During an interview Monday morning on “The Breakfast Club” radio show, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was asked about the possibility of an all-black political party, and she wouldn’t rule it out, but listed several steps black people need to take before they can pull it off.
“Do you think black people should start their own political party?” the host asked.
“No, not at this point,” Waters said. “You’ve got to show that you’re willing and you’re able to put the numbers together and exercise your influence. We still are not voting our influence yet. I think what we should do is organize our power, exercise our power, particularly in the Democratic Party, because that’s where most of us are.”
“We should go to the conventions, we should be delegates, we should run for office… do all of that and then you could raise that kind of question… whether or not we’re strong enough to talk about organizing another party,” Waters added.
Waters claimed that “some of us saw that this was a deplorable human being early on in the campaign.” She listed all Trump’s “deplorable” qualities, alleging that he mocked disabled people, grabbed women, stalked Hillary Clinton, and called his colleagues names, such as “little Rubio.”
She claimed that “we learned about his allies, and his ties to Russia and the Ukraine and to oil” and said she knewhe had been involved with collusion with the Russians.
“You think you’re patriotic. You think you waive your flag higher than anybody else,” Waters ranted against Republicans. “Are you going to stand by and watch this man destroy the democracy? Are you going to stand by and watch him join with Putin to undermine the democracy in the interest of drilling oil in the Artic?”
The Congresswoman brought up the recent sanctions bill, that includes Russia and North Korea and…. struggling to come up with the third country, she finally remembered it is Iran.
“Now Putin is mad at Trump over the sanctions bill,” she noted, indicating that maybe Putin will now turn around and tell what he knows about Trump, referencing allegations about a dossier.
Waters declared it is definitely possible to impeach President Trump. “How long is it going to take? I don’t know, but I give it to December,” she said, with confidence, reminding of Mueller’s investigation.
“But doesn’t the vice president then become president?” Waters was asked by one of the hosts on the panel.
“Could be, and we’ll get him next,” she retorted.
Also during the interview, Waters declared Trump is the worst president ever. “The worst I’ve ever seen, the worst I’ve ever experienced … yes, I do,” she said. “I really do, because I think he believes in nothing. I think that he cares about nothing. I think that he’s capable of doing outrageous things.”
